Good nutrition and independent living go hand in hand. . .
Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley helps make both possible everyday for those who are homebound.
We deliver meals to homes throughout the Salinas Valley, from Pajaro and Aromas in the north to San Ardo and Bradley in the South.

If you know a senior who is unable to shop or make their own meals, contact us at call at 758-MEAL (758-6325) or email janiner@mowsalinas.org

Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley is the only agency who delivers meals to homebound seniors and disabled adults throughout the Salinas Valley, allowing them to remain in their homes and maintain their independence.

  • Volunteers deliver either a five-day or seven-day supply of specially designed frozen main meals and breakfasts. Several meals are delivered at once, so clients are able to choose the meal they want to eat each day and can eat when they’re hungry.
  • Our menus were developed according to Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005 to meet the nutritional needs of seniors. A registered dietitian develops all menus and menu cycles.
  • The frozen main meals are designed to meet seniors’nutritional requirements and provide protein, fruit, vegetables, starches/grains and milk. They are easily stored in the refrigerator and freezer and are heated in a microwave oven.
  • Breakfasts include fortified milk and a variety of items such as cereal, instant oatmeal, peanut butter and whole-wheat crackers, instant breakfast, breakfast bar, fruit cups, and fruit juice.
  • Meals are designed for diabetics and people with hypertension and cardiac restrictions.
