Volunteers of the Quarter

Virginia Garcia, Rural Program Coordinator, with Enrique Rivera
Enrique Rivera, who started delivering meals shortly after he moved to Greenfield about a year ago, is Rural Program Volunteer of the Quarter. Enrique says it is very rewarding to see happiness on clients’ faces when he goes to see them. “I recommend Meals on Wheels highly. It is a good service for seniors and they are so thankful.”

Volunteer of the Quarter, Cliff Winant, has been delivering meals in Salinas for almost three years. He was semi-retired and wanted to help others, so he started volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Cliff says, “This is a worthwhile service that assists the elderly.” He finds that bringing meals to people who can’t go to the store is the most rewarding thing about volunteering and he tells others who might be interested in helping that, “it is worth doing.”
